Kling vs Hailuo (2026): Which AI Video Model for Which Job?

Kling vs Hailuo: the same gift box reveal made with Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro and with MiniMax H3, the newest Hailuo

Kling vs Hailuo is not a contest with one winner. It is a question of the job. Pick Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro when you have a start photo and an end photo, or one deliberate camera move. Pick Hailuo 2.3 when the clip is about a person, Hailuo 02 when you want a cheap draft, and MiniMax H3 when you need 15 seconds or the same face twice. Lovino runs all of them from one account, so you never have to commit to a side.

Below: the jobs sorted, the specs side by side, one real reveal made on both, and a fair way to test them on your own photo.

What is the difference between Kling and Hailuo?

Kling is the video model family from Kuaishou. Hailuo comes from MiniMax. Both turn text, or a photo used as the first frame, into a short clip, and both are sold on Lovino for paid credits.

On paper the differences are small and specific: how long a clip can run, whether you can set the last frame, which resolutions you can choose, whether there is sound, and what each costs to try. In practice those details decide which model fits your clip.

All three take 9:16, 16:9 and 1:1, and all three accept text or a start photo. "A paid plan" means Plus, Pro or Max. "Paid credits" means plan credits or a credit pack. MiniMax H3, the fourth contender, starts at 10 credits for 5 seconds and needs a paid plan. For current prices, see the pricing page.

Is Kling newer than Hailuo?

This is the comparison people most often get wrong. As of October 2026, Kling's own site promotes Kling 4.0, a newer model than the Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro that Lovino offers. MiniMax, for its part, launched MiniMax H3 in July 2026, and Lovino offers H3.

So a Kling clip you saw on Kling's own app may come from a later model than the one you will run here. Judge Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro by what it does with your photo, not by someone's demo of a newer version.

Lovino also uses a model called Kling V3 Motion inside Motion Control, which copies movement from a reference video onto a character. That is a different job from animating a photo, so it is not part of this comparison.

Which is better for people, Kling or Hailuo?

Start with Hailuo 2.3. MiniMax says 2.3 improves physical actions, stylization and facial micro-expressions, and Lovino's model picker labels it for people and expressions. Those are claims and labels, not a benchmark. Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro is a fair second take on the same photo.

If you need the same face across several clips, save it as a Character and use MiniMax H3 with the Face chip. H3 is the only model here that has one.

Which is better for camera moves and product shots?

The Replicate model page for Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro says it handles complex camera moves with stable frames and follows multi-step instructions closely. That is the maker's description, and Lovino's model list calls it premium video with lifelike motion and cinematography. If your clip hinges on one planned move, such as a slow orbit around a bottle, try Kling first and compare.

For a simple push-in on a person, you will probably not see a large gap. Test before you spend on 10-second takes.

Which one takes an end photo?

Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro does, and so does MiniMax H3 (at 768p). Hailuo 02 and 2.3 do not. An end photo is how you make a reveal: a closed box that opens, an empty plate that fills. Lovino's first and last frame tool page shows the reveal below on a third model too, Seedance 2.0 Fast.

What does the same reveal look like on Kling and on Hailuo?

Here is one test on both. Each clip starts from the same photo of a closed gift box, ends on the same photo of it open, and uses the same prompt. Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro comes first, then MiniMax H3, the Hailuo that takes an end photo. Both photos are AI-made test images, and both clips are real Lovino outputs.

Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro, first and last frame: a closed gift box opens on an oak table with warm light glowing inside
MiniMax H3, first and last frame, 768p: the same gift box opens with a warm glow inside

Prompt: A small wooden gift box on a table slowly opens, warm light spills out, gentle camera push-in

The first and last pictures match, because both models are pinned to the same two photos. The difference sits in between.

Frames at 1.2, 2.4 and 3.6 seconds from the Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro and MiniMax H3 gift box clips: Kling adds a small flame inside the box, H3 shows only a glow
Frames at 1.2, 2.4 and 3.6 seconds from the Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro and MiniMax H3 gift box clips: Kling adds a small flame inside the box, H3 shows only a glow

Kling lit the inside of the box with a small flame that appears in neither photo, then let it fade as the lid settled on the end frame. H3 kept the inside empty and glowing, like the end photo. Neither is wrong, since the prompt only said "warm light spills out". But it is a fair picture of how each model fills a gap: Kling added a detail, H3 stayed closer to its photos. One pair proves little, and your own photos may behave differently, which is what the test below is for.

How do you run a fair Kling vs Hailuo test?

A fair Kling vs Hailuo head-to-head in five steps: same photo, same prompt, same length and ratio, lowest resolution first, judge the whole clip
A fair Kling vs Hailuo head-to-head in five steps: same photo, same prompt, same length and ratio, lowest resolution first, judge the whole clip
  1. Use one start photo with one clear subject.
  2. Paste the same motion prompt into each model.
  3. Match length and ratio as closely as you can. Kling's shortest clip is 5 seconds and Hailuo's is 6.
  4. Start at the lowest resolution. Pay for HD only on the winner.
  5. Judge faces, hands, edges and the camera move across the whole clip, twice.

A starter prompt to paste into both:

She turns toward the camera and smiles. Slow push-in. Soft wind moves her hair.

What mistakes ruin a model comparison?

  • Different photos. A new photo changes everything. Keep the photo fixed.
  • One roll each. One clip per model proves little. Run two takes before you decide.
  • Judging the first second. Motion can drift late in a clip. Watch to the end.
  • Comparing a demo with your result. Maker showcases are curated, and your photo may behave differently.
  • Passing AI off as filmed footage. You can animate and style a photo, but a product cannot do what it does not do. Follow each platform's AI label rules. Our AI content disclosure guide explains them.

Kling vs Hailuo: the verdict

Hailuo 2.3 is the default for people. Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro is the pick for reveals and planned camera moves. Hailuo 02 is the cheap draft, and MiniMax H3 covers long clips, 2K, built-in sound and one face across clips. If you are still unsure, run the five-step test on one photo. It costs a few short clips and answers the question for your own content.

Questions, answered.

Is Kling better than Hailuo?

Neither wins every job. On Lovino, Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro takes an end photo and suits planned camera moves, while Hailuo 2.3 is aimed at people and expressions. Test both on one photo with the same prompt and keep the winner.

Which is cheaper, Kling or Hailuo?

Hailuo has the cheaper way in. Hailuo 02 starts at 3 credits for a 6-second 512p clip, Hailuo 2.3 at 7 credits, and Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro at 9 credits for 5 seconds. Video always spends paid credits.

Can Kling or Hailuo make a video with sound?

Only MiniMax H3, and on every clip: there is no switch to turn it off. Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro and the Hailuo 02, 2.3 and 2.3 Fast models make silent clips on Lovino. Veo 3.1 Fast and the Seedance 2.x models let you switch sound on or off.

Does Lovino have the newest Kling model?

No. As of October 2026 Kling's own site promotes Kling 4.0, while Lovino offers Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro, plus Kling V3 Motion inside Motion Control. Judge the model you can run here by your own tests.
